Kenexa Help Hilton Hotels Enhance The Strategic Value Of HR Within Its International Operations
Hospitality organisation commissioned Kenexa to develop programme that would be aligned to the organisation’s HR vision
 
Kenexa, the recruitment and retention specialist, has helped Hilton Hotels Corporation, one of the world’s leading hospitality organisations, enhance the strategic vision of HR within its international operations.
 
“When I joined Hilton, the Human Resources department was considered a very administrative function,” said Tea Colaianni, Hilton’s Vice President for Human Resources in Europe. “I wanted everyone in HR to be more strategically aligned and to be considered the ‘best in class’ within our industry.”
 
The hospitality organisation commissioned Kenexa to develop a programme - HR Talent @ Hilton – that would be aligned to the organisation’s HR vision.
 
Kenexa utilised talent focus groups, job analysis and critical incident questionnaires with existing HR personnel and general managers across the business to identify essential HR talents, and from the results, formulated an HR success model. From this extensive research Kenexa designed a web-based solution that measured HR candidates against these essential HR talents.
 
The HR Talent @ Hilton programme has helped the organisation attract, retain and develop talented HR people, who are now providing a proactive, cost effective and business-driven HR strategy, and as Tea Colaianni adds, “The programme has shown we are investing in HR. We are helping HR professionals within Hilton to develop a clear career path.”
