The MQ can be used by HR professionals and line managers in the selection and development of staff.
Candidates are given a set of statements to respond to. They indicate whether the statement represents them on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being strongly disagree to 5 strongly agree). The statements are grouped into sets of four, and candidates rank these statements in terms of how much they agree with them (highest rank as agree most strongly, lowest rank as agree least strongly).
Its comprehensive, expert system report details both positive factors and areas that could be cause for concern.
Reports include a comparison of the individual’s motivating factors with the norm group, together with his or her own personal pattern of motivation, making the MQ an ideal basis for discussion.
